acer aspire e1 laptop, is windows 10 just janky as hell? this thing is slow and laggy, i mean its just a secondary laptop and ive never had windows 10 before, does anyone have any opinion on options or things to disable to make this thing from taking my sanity?

Besides the usual, not really. It would run just as good as, if not better than win7.

1. Press Ctr + Alt + Esc which will open your task manager. Go to startup and disable all startup programs and restart.
2. Run a full virus scan just to make sure nothing else is running in the background.
3. You are most likely using a mechanical hard drive, Upgrade to a 120GB-500GB SSD Drive depending on your needs (range from 40$ to 150$) and Upgrade your Ram to 8GB at least.
4. Laptop is pretty low end, however, SSD should make the operating system run quickly, but your games will still run the same, but load faster. Most people are very satisfied with the transition to a Solid State Drive and you will find it is impossible to go back to your old drive.
