So I am using a 4k tv as monitor for now untill I replace my monitor

The problem is if I plug the tv to my HDMI port the one on the mobo it doesn't give signal but if I plug it into the HDMI of my gtx 980 ti it gives signal

But I need the gtx port for my HTC VIVE

Only works with kaby lake+ cpus and I believe you also need the board from that gen as well (not 100 sure on that 2nd part)

The best thing would be to buy an hdmi to DP/DVI-D adapter.

But you can also enable integrated GPU as well.
in BIOS - Advanced > System Agent Configuration > Graphics configuration > CPU Graphics Multi-Monitor (enable it)

I'd go with the DisplayPort for the Vive.
