Okay so, Sometime within the past 48 hours, my internet has started acting up..

I'm connected to my router via wifi, and I've had a ISP technician come out and check it to make sure it's all up to par.

He said he ran signal tests and everything checked out and gave me a new modem/router just to be safe.

The problem is, I can't do half of the stuff I normally do. I can browse websites just fine, watch youtube videos, stream movies etc.

I cannot connect to any game (d2, PUBG, COD, CSGO ), and I can't connect to a discord voice channel, but I can still be in a discord and communicate with other users in lobby.

I'm not sure what this problem is or how I can fix it.

Any ideas??

Well your on wifi so check the wifi card or usb along with drivers and such.
I mean tech didn't test your laptop/desktop he only checked the line.
just common sense.

I forgot to mention that I did infact delete previous drivers and reinstalled... I don't have a network card, so I have the netgear USB wireless adapter.. I reinstalled that.

Not sure what else can be done at this point.. malware possibly? I'm not too familiar with this area tbh.

Try wired. If it works and the USB wireless adapter doesn't....

defective device or malware both could be the issue tbh.
try the netgear device on another pc, does it work properly there?

I'm 3 feet short from going wired. I have a 4 foot Ethernet cable, and i need atleast 7..

Feelsbadman.

Will go out and buy a new Ethernet cable when I get the funds.

It just doesn't make sense how I can do so much, but some things are "blocked".

I've disabled all firewalls, allowed exceptions on certain apps and it still doesn't work.

Someone mentioned malware to me, so that's my theory at this point I guess. I dunno.
