The problem is that juice contains as much sugar as soda. Sure it's better, but not really a healthy replacement.

I get the scientific reasoning behind that but i dont think ill ever believe it

Maybe the fake processed juices

But there has to be something else to it

dilute the soda a small amount over long periods of time. for example, pour a 12oz soda into a glass and add 1 unit (eg: tsp or tbsp) of water. you probably won't notice much taste difference. continue drinking like this for a couple weeks so you get used to it. then increase by 1 unit of water. repeat. the idea is you'd probably notice if you went from drinking 100% soda to 50% soda concentration, but if you go from 100% to 96% to 92% gradually, you won't notice as much.

that's essentially what i did to get around the powdered drinks. those pitcher packets are supposed to be for 2L. so i'd put it in a 4L pitcher with slightly more than 2L of water. then increase the water over time. i'm up to around 6L or so.

when i was a kid, mom wouldn't let me drink soda. so i ended up not drinking much at all. as i got older, i learned soda isn't so bad for you. it's more about your opportunity cost. the common fallacy is that your choices are 1) drink 2L of water or 2) drink 2L of soda, in which case the water is better. BUT if your choices are 1) drink nothing or 2) drink 2L of soda a day, then by all means drink the soda. the dehydration is much worse on your body.

The thing is sugar in fruit for your body is no problem. You can eat as much fruit as you like. But the process of juicing it removes the fibers and a lot of nutrients, so you get stuck with sugar and you just lost a lot of good stuff out of the fruit. So ur body cannot process the sugar that way. It's why pediatrician will tell you to avoid too much juices for your kids, cause it lead to obesity.

That's such a stupid statement. In what kind of fucked up situation would you be to have access to soda but not water lol.
