That's correct, technically that is the official reason. The demonstration was organized to ask for the release of the two separatists that are accused of sedition, but due to the recent triggering of article 155, it has shifted more towards that (as seen in the speeches the politicians in the demonstration have given). As a whole, we could say it's now a demonstration against the recent actions the government and the judiciary system have made (although it's officialy about the two guys in provisional prison).
update, that seems bad, look like spanish governement will have to use force (once the 155th vote is done the 27...)

Following the announcement by Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy of Catalonia's suspension of autonomy, Catalan President Carles Puigdemont said that Madrid's measures were "the worst attack on the Catalan constitution. since Franco ".
"
Personaly i hope they will jail or condamn those catalans separatists fast (the leaders only) and show something strong.
I bet they overbided each others on independance for years, now they will lose all their jobs and desserve it.
...
ah... i have something about Manuel Valls (previous french first minister for several years)
"
Valls was interviewed a few days ago on the channel Antena 3. As everyone knows he was born in Barcelona and his family is Catalan. To the question - the type of behavior adopted by the Catalan government would it be possible in France? - he replied "We would not tolerate a single day".
