How it sounds, more than one team has a Viper around the Nurburgring and goes for record runs whenever possible to get a clear track attempt. Pretty wild the Nurburgring, generally speaking, is a toll road open the public.

it definitely helps on the launch, but i think thats about it.

I don't believe you. There's a reason why all of F1 uses tire heaters before sending their cars out for qualifying.
