I was a big fan of it as a kid but recent horror films are way to predictable now I'm more of a sci-fi / fantasy addict now a days but I might give it a shot seeing how the majority of you like it

Well they are what ? 13 ? You don't expect them to get themselves in a bad situation ?

You'd think kids want to have a feel of security. It felt like these kids could only remember last 2 minutes of what has happened and what they have talked about.

And I did say I expect people to be stupid get in bad situations in horror movies

Saw it on Sunday.

I loved the cast - they projected an easy going, nostalgic feel to the film which at first seemed out of place in the thriller/horror genre, but grew on me and I was sold after the first 20 mins.

However, the jump-scares lost their mojo after a while and I felt the scenes where they were running from/fighting Pennywise were stretched out and too long.

It didn't make sense how the girl could be revived but the other kids that started floating down after Pennywise was (temporarily) defeated are still dead. I guess they were too far gone?

I'd give it a 7/10, because I liked the cast so much. Those kids have big futures.

Was pleasantly surprised, went in not expecting much and came out happy. The local AMC theatre had a guy dressed as a clown with a balloon, he ended up making a little girl cry. Who the fuck brings their kids to see things like this?

Can't wait for part 2.

I am pretty sure they acknowledge/touch on this... because she wasnt scared of Pennywise

And Im glad the movie wasnt just a bunch of jump scares. That gets lame quick, it actually had a story/content too it vs cheap jump scares for 2 hours

just like Mcgregor's boxing skill, It was much better than I thought. They added more dialogue but it felt unnecessary. The added violence was okay. They bring back that haunted house theme which ends up back in a sewer anyway. The movie feels like it's on par with the television special minus Tim Curry's great acting. But Pennywise's portrayal was pretty good. Creepy as fuck. But also funny as fuck because the way he moves, it makes look like he is on crack. I give movie 6/10
