Yes actually, the assumption is when these membranes collide, a "big bang" occurs, and energy is exchanged between universes.
Energy in the truest sense, no particles or mass, just energy, essentially the "super force" (all known types of energy combined into a single force/energy type - that other stuff, separation of forces, mass, particles, matter, etc, comes later after time and expansion)
It's apart of M theory, which is the unification of all 5 string theories, general relativity, special relativity, quantum mechanics, Newtonian physics, and accounts for expansions and dark matter.
Only thing missing is super symmetry.
We need a bigger collider.
But if there is only energy of one type being transferred, then how do you differentiate what came from another universe and what didn't?
