I wanted to see what the viability of a pure Golemancer would be, and if the golem could take out hell bosses with a merc support. Something like 1 to important curses, max Iron Golem synergies, and make it out of an EBOTD or something like that. So my questions:

What would be the the best aura to get on my mercenary
What would be the best possible item to make the golem out of (what stats transfer to the golem, is it all stats and damage?)

Not good.

Iron golem gains all stats except mf and mana leech

Including damage, armor, and mods.

This might work as a poison thorns necro, but not pure golem.

All stats and damage transfer. The base weapon damage, including ED and eth bonus, get added to the IG damage, which can then be multiplied by things like Might.

As far as whether it's viable, I really don't know, I haven't tried it. I think that you'd find your golem and merc are both more vulnerable without a meat shield army. Gotta remember how slow golem attack is.

mf transfers

1x skeleton>1x golem. Golems simply "equip" a weapon and you calcualate their dmg by adding the weapon damage/auras/fire golem synergy

golems are junk...even if you made a golem out of a 415%ed botd warpike( a "relatively" inexpensive runeword that can at least hold a candle against skeleton DPS), a skeleton would still do more dmg/average DPS

btw if you make him out of 2h...that base dmg(12-33 if 1 pt in IG, 26-72 if maxed Fire Golem for the dmg boost) that punching dmg doesnt even transfer to a 2h, only 1h.


a skeleton is like a BOTD warpike with really shitty range and speed but insane minimum dmg.But golems also have the same range(capped at 1) and the same AI delay of 15 frames just like skeletons so while ias helps the golem, he would still "sit out" for some time due to AI delay


now if golems inherited weapon range and somehow didnt suffer from AI delay maybe they could be a more interesting minion but as for now they are nothing but an extra aura slave/crushing blow minion(if you are too poor to make one out of pride or insight)

clay golem on a pure golemancer ends up with like 80,000 hp before battle orders
I don't remember how much health maxed iron golem gets but it's probably close to 50,000 with bo. even with buggy curses in chaos he should be fine.

downside: he does no damage, attacks slow and can only hit one target at a time.
