i learned how do rinse the meat from a girl i used to go out with! :)

she was a part time in house nurse and would cook food for the elderly! she had to rinse the hamburger meat cuz their bodies couldn't handle the grease anymore! i just figured i'd get a head start and rinse my hamburger meat while i'm still in my 30's! ;)

So what % fat meat do you get from the grocery before you rinse?

And how do you rinse?

i usually get 80/20 and dump the meat in a colander after i brown it and then i rinse it under hot water in the sink! :)

i also wipe the grease out of the pan with a wad of paper towels before i add the rinsed meat back into the pan! ;)

i had no clue people did this and i was so intrigued by it, thanks for the info

i've always gotten the lean ground beef so there's no reason to rinse i guess :P probably why i've never heard about it
