Hello all! First time poster in this section but looking for help.
My Fiancee bought a (125,000km)2008 PT Cruiser..just something for school for the next 2 years that she can use for the time to get from point A to B.

It's been about a month now and we have started to notice when the A/C is turned on every 10 seconds or so the car will shake quickly and then stop..any idea's on this before I take it to a mechanic so I can know what I'm looking for? Does not shake when the A/C is off though..only on!!

Is this on idle or driving?

If idle, what does the idle sit at before and after the A/C is turned on?

Could be several factors.

Idle only..and i believe around just under 1000 roughly(a/c on and off). When it does the shake it falls a bit lower then goes back up when it shakes but it only does the shake with the a/c on.

Bad motor mounts, most likely.
Your AC causes a vibration that your worn mounts don't like.

your a/c compressor will cycle the a/c clutch on and off thats what you are noticing. also i agree about the motor mounts you probably have one bad and when the a/c kicks on it brings your rpms down (normal) so at idle you will notice this way more than if you were driving down the road.

Good luck.

Bad compressor? Any other noises or just vibrating?
