Friends laptop, symptoms as I've seen them are loading into the os and grey screening about 3/4 through. Tried safe mode and it didn't load or work.

Help??


My thoughts are failing hdd or corrupt os.

Hold down Command+R at boot (when you first hear the chime), boot to recovery, reinstall OS X from there.
