I told him he just missed the senheisser 6xx deal for $200. but those were open headphones anyway.

His budget is around $200 for closed back headphones for music. He said it needs to be closed back because he will use them in the library often.

I know a few headphones in the $100 category that ive seen talked about here. But not too sure about a bit higher end budget for closed back headphones?

oh yea thanks. forgot about those. hmmmm i forgot, if there a sound quality difference in the 250 ohm vs the 80 version? i know the 250 ohm version would benefit greatly from an amplifier.

yes. but even if an amplifier is needed, there are portable amps, right? not sure how a pair of headphones would not be portable? he will be using the headphones with his laptop or phone. as he does not own a desktop.

yea thats crazy that they make so many different versions in ohms... like i wasnt aware of the 16 ohm, but ive seen the 32 ohm, 250 ohm, and i think 80 ohm? way too many to have in my opinion.

ok true. i dont think he cares too much about portability, but probably more so about the sound quality for the price. most headphones probably have a nice case that can be bought to protect them even if they do not fold.

Pretty much all them are easy to drive easy sensitivity on the drivers
16 ohm is 3.5mm i believe
My 250ohm can be used on some portable devices but its 1/4 inch jack

Should be 3.5mm with a screw on adapter.

Unless your pair is really old or something
