I am also trying to steer clear of whey protein, it gives me an ungodly stomache ache for 30 minutes after drinking it. Not sure what causes it but whey protein is the only thing that causes it. I can drink milk, eat yogurt/cheese/icecream all without any issues but the second I drink whey I just get a bad stomache ache.

Have you tried more than one brand of whey? I've had some stomach issues with different brands in the past. Does the rice protein powder have other types of protein in it to make it a complete protein? Never tried it.
