Why cant it just be that they feel sympathy for someone who streamed their game? Have there been incidents when other people have had heart attacks while streaming PoE and they didnt comment? If someone with few followers had an heart attack and they did not response, perhaps they didnt know seeing as he had few followers rather than favourtism?

I feel very sympathetic for this poor guy. Heart attacks can happen to anyone.

However, with that said they are simply doing this because they know his huge following on twitch and his connections with ZiggyD who helped him get into POE. He literally only started playing POE a few days ago (as compared to nothingburther streamer who averages around < 50 viewers and has been playing their ENTIRE lives), which GGG will give a rats ass about.

I'm sure they'll gain some new players through this terrible marketing stunt and taking advantage of this poor guy. Pathetic favoritism imo

GGG has always paid thanks to the people who stream and promote their game. They put kripp in the credits that used to play after killing Dominus. They just thanked the new popular streamers again after the launch of of FoO for playing their game. Call me crazy, but it might just be that this dev team that started from the bottom and has a good track record of fan interaction and showing appreciation cares for the guy that was streaming their game. A month ago I never heard of BikeMan and I still don't really know who he is, but I did see his name several times on the front page of the PoE subreddit the week FoO launched, so people clearly know him from somewhere.
