So basically im good for " life " with those key right? Or is it a time period.

You're good until your mobo dies and needs to be replaced then you would have to buy another key for that new mobo.

If you buy your key from an authorized retailer like Amazon, Newegg, etc. you can keep reusing the same key even if you swap to a different mobo, but you have to go through the process of chatting with customer service.

u should be able to re-use oem keys by activating them again over the phone on the new pc. the main thing with oem is that the key cant be active on more than one machine at once, so when u do so, the old hwid info gets invalidated.

but then it has been a long time since i did this

this applied to win xp oem

If your experience is with software over 15 years old maybe refrain from referencing it until you know its still valid.

An OEM key is hardware bound and once said hardware breaks the keys done for unless you get super lucky.
Also OEM keys do not allow you to seek support from Micro$hit without paying for there time.

While I like linux and use it still on some machines its just to much hassle for gaming.
an OEM key is 5$ vs 100$ retail key. even if your shit breaks as much as Lee's and matt's your still going to save going OEM.

"Now" being the key word,
then is a matter of.. "for how long".
