Budget: $1500-$2000
More specific use (what games, what programs): FPS Games at 144Hz, any new exciting MMORPG (I do not plan on doing any streaming)
Planned time until purchase: 1-2 Days MAX
Do you need an Operating System?: I'll do the cheap windows 10 key thing (will need some guidance on this)
Do you have any specific preferred components?: 1080 Ti and any 144Hz monitors you guys recommend in my budget. I am thinking one 27" monitor.
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: Doubtful
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: I plan on doing a modest overclock
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: I'll account for the mouse and keyboard on my own, a reasonable 27" 144hz monitor would be nice.
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): 53076

I don't have a preference of intel or amd but I heard the intel socket will be dead in the near future for upgrades?
I want this build to be as future proof as it can be.

RGB lights are a plus on components cuz pretty

Thanks for the help!

So Ghot's build wasted about $200 of your budget in overpriced parts that give no performance advantage and don't even look better. :P

This build will get you:

Ryzen 5 1600 (6-core processor as it's cheap, will last long, and single-core performance won't matter much at all at 1440p)
GTX 1080 Ti (best video card on the market)
ASUS B350 ATX (nice looking mobo -- dark, metal, and RGB)
16GB of RGB RAM (pricey, but sexy)
250GB SSD (they're all pretty much the same)
2TB 7200RPM HDD (again, pretty much the same)
550w Modular PSU (all you'll need)
3x 120mm RGB Fans + Controller (needed for RGB sexiness)

Monitor included:
24" 1440p 165hz G-Sync (I know you said 27", but this monitor is a fantastic buy and pretty much can't be beat as it has G-Sync at $400 which is insane)

Any questions? Feel free to ask. I know the cost is ~$2150, but that's what it'll cost to get the best. We can knock down the video card to a 1080 if you really wanna get below $2000, but nice monitors are costly and eat a good chunk of budget.

That's not a 144hz monitor and he wants to play FPS games primarily.

He asked for looks. Did you not read his post at all apart from the budget? Also, prove how yours is faster in literally any game at 1440p please.

Revamping this and trying again with the new intel chips out what is the best route?
Is it worth waiting until black friday for any deals?

Lets see what you guys have now. Also looking for case suggestions that look nice but not over the top.

Idk about black Friday, but cyber Monday at Newegg is almost always worth the wait. Also, personal preference here but I'd never spend 2 grand on a pc running an AMD cpu. Those are usually reserved for 1k and under pc's for me. You also need to decide some stuff on your monitor. You said you want 27 inch 144 hz. Do you want Gsync, Freesync, neither, TN or IPS?
