If he came out right from the get go and denounced the Nazi's and said something like. "The people chanting my name under the flag of white supremacy should stop now, I do NOT support it."

That would have been good enough for me, I cant speak for everyone but it would have been way less of a shit storm that he allowed it to be by not saying anything and effectively blaming the victim.

I think he needs to put in a reminder, his base isnt to good at remembering things obviously.

President Trump (and only he is held to this standard) has to make a monthly weekly daily hourly press release to remind the vile racists and dumbass supremacists whose beliefs and actions he rejected and disavowed that he still rejects and disavows them and their actions today.

-Democrats, RINOs, media, etc.

it's the same obvious routine as during his campaign: trump keeps appealing to that scum, emboldens them, and avoids negative statements (remember how he pretended not to know who david duke is?) until the pressure is so high that he HAS to come out and say something so he doesn't look like a racist himself.

it's not like those ppl don't understand that he only ever denounces them when he's basically forced to. that's why they keep supporting him - he quite obviously does everything to give them the impression he's on their side and only ever speaks out against them when he has to because the "evil establishment" and "leftist thought police" makes him...

don't get me wrong, it's a GOOD thing that he went on record, better late than never - but let's not pretend that he would have done that without the pressure he got from basically every direction. that doesn't make him a racist, but it's obvious he doesn't mind them too much as long as they support him...

While I agree that he would have shown better leadership had he made this statement sooner, I still believe this is an issue that we need to unite on. Everyone needs to sand up to racial supremacy together, Republicans, Democrats, and non affiliates.

Not only that, if he had come out immediately and condemned it in no uncertain terms he probably would have gotten massive credit since he's constantly graded on a curve.
