I have interviewed at Google. They only ask 2-3 open-ended questions. They want to hear and see you went from a problem to a solution in like a story that is entertaining and gets the job done; the whole process with details and visual proof. Tell them you're willing to sacrifice your personal life to get the work done (working overtime without pay).

I interviewed for a position not related to programming, but I offer to clean their bathrooms at minimum wage. I made it to the 2nd interview but was competing against people with a master degrees. I didn't get the job, since at that time, I didn't meet the experience requirement.

80% of the programming department is anti-social. Strong people skills will put you at the top. You're given priority if you live near Google or can commute there. You're probably competing against 1,000 to 10,000 people (people from all over the world) for that one position. The department is 90% Asian (including Asian Indians) and 10% other. The department is about 1,000 employees. It's also about to get larger as Google is buying properties in Downtown San Jose to expand their offices. Major win if you live in San Jose.

If you want to work at Google/Amazon/Netflix you need to be prepared to work 10-12 hours a day.

We've had a couple people leave our org for those companies and they've made bank. They always leave 3-5 years later and come back though.

The programming questions aren't that hard, they mostly just want to see your problem solving abilities. You have to understand computational complexity for the programming interviews. You'll get asked questions where you're in the middle of solving it and BAM they change it up on you. All of a sudden the array you were passed is no longer sorted so you have to change from a BST to a hash table. They try to throw you off in that way.

Bring an Android phone with you. You will probably get interviewed by a programming manager and someone from HR, so that's why you need people skills. The people from HR may have some to none programing experience.

Where are you from? You need to network with Google Employees and become Facebook friends with them to speed up the process of landing a job there.

You'll be working 10-12 hours a day without pay for overtime. My friends at Apple always bitch about spending 2-3 hours/day on reading emails. They have to read them in case if they get asked about it during a meeting. They can get fired for not reading emails.
