I live in the North East, I doubt I'll drive the vette in actual snow (more than 1-2 inches) but temperatures sometimes drop to 0 degrees, consistently below 40 degrees, and random snow showers will make the roads slick (inch of compacted snow/slush after plowing) if I am already out at work.

Should I just get 19/20 snow tires, if so, what do you recommend?
Will buying new wheels for the snow make a huge difference in traction (allowing smaller tires) or is it primarily to protect my rims?

Thanks,

I have my wife's car if I have to get somewhere if it's actually bad outside. I don't want to have to drive a second car in the winters, I got the vette to be driven daily :P

I will work from home if the roads are a mess or snow in the forecast but I would still like to be able to drive it in the winter (Cold outside) + be safe during random snow showers.

i am thinking of getting these:

Go with 20" all around tbh, 19" are stupidly overpriced

check nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 its last year model and those are fucking amazing in snow pretty sure you could find a great deal

Could just get some base 18/19 wheels. They're a dime a dozen on craigslist at really cheap prices.

Not sure how I feel about studs when roads are dry/wet versus non studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 versus PA4

i agree with you on the studs when the roads would be dry. would be annoying and would prob drive like shit. i would go with the non studded Nokian. Looks like a good tire and the reviews are not bad either. i mean it really comes down to price. your not going to use the tires no more then 3 months or so when the weather is bad. you will most likely get a few years out of them before they dry rot.
