Looking online and I'm seeing high protein high fat and low carbs at a calorie deficit as recommended for cutting

Does this mean stuff like breaded chicken wings and vegetables? What should i be buying at the grocery store?

It can mean whatever you are able to fit in those macros if that's what you want to do.

If you can fit wings/fast food/whatever into your caloric deficit then go for it and it will make the cut a lot easier in terms of the cravings. Just have to be careful because 10 wings is about 1k calories and then you don't have much to eat the rest of the day.

High protein is to help decrease muscle breakdown while at a caloric deficit.

How the fuk are there so many calories in a tiny little wing. They're like a mouthful of meat at most and somehow have so many calories, I can eat like 40 wings in a sitting too

Well, I should rephrase that. Normal sized wings in Buffalo are about 1k per 10. I've had fetus sized wings where I could pound about 40 and still be hungry.

I believe it's the breading and oil that add a lot, but they're pretty fatty compared to a breast.

The kcal deficit is key.

High protein is always a safe bet if it's not too difficult for you to hit daily.
High fat because you want at least 20-30% total cals as fats (for health reasons).
The rest can go into carbs if you like. However if you aren't very active I'd suggest placing more carbs into your protein and fat.

DRINK A LOT OF WATER. MORE WATER IN YOUR STOMACH = LESS HUNGER FEELING AND ALSO HELPS LOSE WEIGHT FASTER

Get a blender... Every time you have a craving throw kale/spinach/mixed fruits/whey protein in the blender and mix with water... this should only be a few hundred calories AT MOST and the fiber will make you feel full.

Also eat beans.

High fiber/low calorie foods = feel full

Drink a coffee (espresso) then brush your teeth

Caffeine is a hunger suppressant

Brushing your teeth also makes you not feel like eating anything for a while

Protein intake is relatively the same

Decrease fat intake
Decrease carb intake

Or decrease a bit of both. That's it, don't over complicate things.
