but i always worry games that say like 3.2ghz required what if its like 3.4 would the ryzen be able to keep up being only 3.2
while the other one is 4ghz like what im so lost why do they even have this shit

It'll auto boost itself to 3.4ghz. Even without the boost feature, it won't be a problem if it was short 0.2ghz.

tbh idc if its 2ghz if it plays the games i got now and most of my new ones for the next few years id be fine with it i just dont fully grasp the concept of ghz on cpus and what it actually means

and according to that site that ryzen wouldnt i dont think?><

Intel Core i5-650 3.2GHz whats the amd equivilent of this? is the ryzen better?
e: the kaby lake 3ghz you posted in the anatech site is $260+ and crappier then the ryzen correct?

Intel Core i5-7500 Kaby Lake Quad-Core Processor
Socket LGA 1151, 3.4GHz, 6MB L3 Cache, 14nm
(Retail Boxed) Gen7
this ones $275 and according to the site the $230 ryzen is better performance

Ryzen is still better.

Here's a build to consider...

I own an FX 8350, and I'm suggesting you get Ryzen.

/e The Intel i5-650 is only a 2 core CPU.

yeah testing it on that site vs more expensive intel cpus and it keeps coming out on top seems like a decent bang for your buck processor
this is something that will be able to last me a few years though i dont wanna get a something that i gotta buy another 1 in like a year because it cant play games
or would i likely have to dump the extra $40 or whatever for the 1500 ryzen with 3.5ghz for that?

e: 2 core? really lol its the recommended requirement for black desert online o.O
i cant play BDO which is main reason im looking into upgrading my pc but obvioulsy id like to play other games that may have somewhat higher requirements

That's why I suggested a CPU and a motherboard, that can overclock. Some new game comes out, you can turn the CPU speed up a bit, if necessary.

id like to avoid overclocking i usually have a warm room and fear overheating overclocking would likely rip my shit quicktime lol
thats why i was looking at the high base ghz processors hoping to avoid it but idk what gen is what whats new old etc etc
at least now i know to generally get a ryzen if im going with amd and have a site i can compare them to intels and not be like well idk wtf is better or not

and i really dont wanna spend $200 on a motherboard ><

Road trip to the U.S. then. :)

You can't have everything. Right now, it's pretty much Ryzen for the budget conscious.

I just gave the build overclocking components, so you can get what you want, while spending the least.

its an $40 extra for the 1500 with 3.5 which tops the boost to 3.4
would i still need a $200 mb or no since i dont need to overclock? or could i go with a cheap like $120 one?
