It's just a scare tactic to try to get people to upgrade to windows 10. When you think about the fact that kaby lake works with gnu/linux and mac does it really make sense that it would exclude 7?
Seen a lot of people running windows 7 with kaby lake chips so it's probably just a matter of getting around the message.
I think it was just loss of features drivers and other ms support being 7 is on extended support for security updates only?
I"m not sure but seems like ms amd and intel are doing this win10 push
