So a few months ago my mouse all of a sudden stopped working although it seemed perfectly fine so I'm using a random one again.

I just decided to see if it's somehow working now and I found out that it actually works, but the left and right buttons have some other action assigned to them?

So when I'm clicking them something happens, but I'm not sure exactly what..

I didn't change a thing on it, I literally just woke up one morning and it was like that, left and right clicks seemingly not doing anything, but the buttons working fine.

It was working normally until I went to bed and then the next day this happened.

How do I see what's assigned to them and fix them back to normal?

And also any ideas on how the hell this even happened are appreciated..

I'm trying to fix it atm, but If someone can spare some time it would be cool. :)

It's some "hama uRage" mouse

so broken mouse is still broken,
leave it alone imo its broken.

As for a more direct answer unless it has software for it to rebind mouse buttons they are doing what they should be.
unless ALL mice are acting weird then its probably windows and some setting.

So basically it's a mouse software virus...
That's what I thought, is that a thing!?
I have no idea if it has any software on it, but probably..

"Broken" overnight without it even being touched the whole time?
Unless I sleepwalked and smashed someone in the head with it.. that doesn't seem too plausible.
What exactly could've "broken" while it's standing still? :D

I'm a fucking genius! ;D
Finally found the exact model, downloaded the right driver and reassigned the left and right clicks and now it's working!
The weirdest part is that the button manager said everything is normal...
It said that "click" is assigned to click and "right click" is assigned to right click...
But I reassigned them again to the exact same thing and it's fine now! :santa:

I was about to post grab updated drivers.
Sometimes things just corrupt over time, its not uncommon at all.

Mouse configs can break just because Windows is Windows. (It breaks config stuff for seemingly no logical explainable reason at all.)

Did you try resetting your router? Sometimes that helps make your mouse work.

Trust me, I graduated from DeVry University so I know what I'm talking about.
