Why are you guys sending a b-squad? I mean, I know it's not a relevant tournament, but why not take it as a rehearsal for the WC?

we are taking it as a rehearsal :p
to find out which players can be considered that dont belong to the core squad

it was made pretty clear from the beginning that our regulars kroos, hummels, müller etc should not go 3 summers in a row without a break
these guys shall rest up this summer to be fit for the world cup B)

It's just that I see so many randoms I've barely heard of... I mean, I don't want to judge players I haven't seen but some players I really have trouble imagining them in the squad sent to defend world throne.

Zark players need breaks. The top players, not including bundesliga, literally only get 2-4 weeks off in the summer. That's such little time lol

obviously many of them wont anywhere close to our starting eleven, but knowing them i am really happy with our overall squad depth ^^

no excuses needed for better friendlies, but even this team should have a decent chance and play halfway decent football

only looking at individual player quality - however, they lack one of the most important things in football: chemistry. they haven't played together, they haven't trained together much, i fully expect quality teams like chile or portugal (should we even make it out of the group) to school this squad of randoms.

that being said though, i'm 100% fine with that - for once i agree with löw and would have done the exact same thing: give your stars a break and give some 2nd and 3rd row players the chance to make a name for themselves in this rather irrelevant tournament.
also, i think it's awesome that the other teams basically sent their best squads from what i read - that way it will be a REAL test for the boys. should this tournament go as i expect, it will probably lead to other teams underestimating us in the world cup next year - and that never hurts...
