How comfortable are you with electronics? I've personally built stuff like this before and hated it. So if something was wrong I would send it in to get fixed even though I probably know how to fix it.

That sucks
my xbox360 did this
It would it cost about 100 to 150 to fix from Sony
If u can find someone to do it cheaper do it or buy a new one
What i did when my 360 did this, I bought a digital copies of the games so I didn't have to worry about the disc ejecting out
Few years ago I built my PC with my roommate. Neither of us knew what we were doing at the time, just followed instructions.
That's my main question, is how much would it cost to repair it? If it's 100-150, then that sounds about what it cost to repair my xbox360 back in the day when it got red rings outside of warranty. However, if I were to open up the PS4 and attempt this and potentially damage it more, would the cost be the same to fix it, since I'm outside of warranty anyways?

The bluray on my ps3 died once. Everything else worked, but not the bluray. This was 2012 I believe, and I was out of the warranty. I called SONY, and they said that I could send it in for repair. Cost 100 bucks.. but they fixed it. Might try calling them and asking how much it might cost, or if they'd do it.
I'm going to try that first before tackling it. But I feel like you guys are right with it costing me 100-150. If the issue is what is shown in the above video, I think I may be able to avoid that.
