demographics play a big role. i have no idea what movie had "no more soup for you". since there are more younger people than older people, you're better off picking movies that are famous for the younger generations.

Yep, that's why I picked quotes from older movies. The most recognizable quote definitely isn't from the 90s or later. Even the 80s is a bit of stretch.

First you've got to ask yourself: which quotes would my grandparents recognize?
Then: out of those, which quotes would my parents recognize?
At that point you've pretty much got your answer and asking "out of those, which one would my friends recognize?" would just give you the bonus points needed to break a tie.

Out of the ones I gave, I'm pretty sure the most well known is either the ones I gave from the Wizard of Oz, Snow White or Mary Poppins, since almost everyone has seen them (especially during their childhood, which is when people tend to rewatch the same movies until they know them by heart, and when these kind of memories become more solid) or the ones from Star Wars (because at this point they are so famous that you don't even need to have watched the movies to know where those quotes come from).

I'd say probably "You talkin to me?" It has transcended it's original movie more than any other movie line. A lot of people wont know the movie or actor but they sure as hell know the line.
