I don't know what's wrong but after a year of solid internet service, my internet would automatically be unsecured. I went into my router's default ip web address and changed it to a secure connection and it was fine for about another year.

Now all of a sudden after about 2 hrs I would completely lose connection and would have to manually reset the router in order to get a connection again.

Can someone help me and determine whether my router is set up correctly via the ip 192.168.1.1?

Chances are your router/modems going out.
start by updating the firm ware and see if that helps.
tbh you shouldn't allow anyone into your router.

How does one connect to it and confirm its configured correctly without you allowing them access?

Oh, I only wrote that out to describe what I meant by settings. I wanted to be as clear and concise in describing my problems. But maybe I over-described here lol

No one will be going into that except me.

But someone can guide me along and making sure all the settings are configured properly

We don't know the router of firmware version to assist and every router is different.
You have not described your network in any detail what so ever.

If all your issue is having to restart the router occasionally then I suggest you do just that.
Its a common fix for basically all routers and is attributed to many things.

Let me make this simple for you....
You are asking us to fix your car but not saying what your car is, or allowing us to look at said car.
I mean were great and all but we ain't wizards.
