Python isnt that simple after all. There are 2 versions outthere and the new python has not many intros

There is a pretty fun game called Colobot where you program robots to do stuff, in language simillar to Java. Check it out.



just use any of them, once you learn it, finding differences will be no-brainer. Or use entirely different language, I would strongly recommend Golang that makes it pretty much mandatory to do stuff Right™, and they focus on making it very elegant. Bonus: it's really really fast.

Python 3 is almost the same as 2.7. Just pick one.
