I am fairly new to the world of "non gaming headphones" and I'm looking for something decent.

So far I looked at the HD598 , the Ath-m50x , the phillips sph9500s (Holy moly they look solid for the price) , the Beyerdynamics DT 880 and 990 I believe (Although those two requiere an amp which I do not currently have) and the Audio technica ATH-AD900x

I was wondering if anybody here had a little more experience and could guide me towards the best pair of headphones for my need!

I'd use them both for gaming and on the go for music. I think i'll have to go for a closed back pair , because people don't like to have obnoxiously loud music blasted to them on the street!

I was looking at something with a wide and clear sound stage, good vocals and solid bass.

Currently using an HyperX cloud set, great headset but I want to upgrade to something a little better.

I will tip FG if anybody helps me find something!

I assume this is the go-to place on JSP to post for these?

I can't stand earbuds sadly

So I decided to buy a pair of HD598 , got a great deal at ~40 bucks (Somehow.. )

and then I ordered a pair of Fidelio x2 , head a lot of good reviews on em and I needed something bassy , hope I don't regret it.

Beyerdynamic DT series don't require an amp if you're not getting the 250 ohm or higher version. Since you want closed ones, you would need to get the 770 and not 880 or 990.

Neither of these are closed.

I'd recommend the DT770 in general, although they're quite big and might look and feel awkward for portable/public usage. If that would bother you, the M50x are much more portable as they are smaller, can fold, and have a detachable cable.

ihave the ath-m30. theyre pretty solid, so the m50x should only be better. audio technica are solid in general, and good value. bose and beats are overpriced for what youre getting.

I was looking at DT770 but they requiere an amp , I was thinking about getting M50x with a fioo portable amp , I already ordered the other 2 headphones , one for gaming and one for music listening as I study , i'll get a pair of closed back ones at a later point for when i'm on the bus and all!

I was looking at those red or dark orange m50x , looks great!
