Nice find with Mario Party.

Always check cases!
Friend of mine bought WipeOut 3 for PS2 back in the day in a pawn shop.
So we back home exited to play we found out it was WipeOut 2097 for PS1.

If you think it's worth to keep and add to the collection, do try to find a case and manul.
Who knows you'll find it

Getting a case might be the way to go to be honest… I’ll see if I can get one for a reasonable deal

I own a lot of original games, not collecting anymore (playing more now)

Wanted to post my 2 most precious collector items

https://i.imgur.com/onHv9VS.jpg

Both complete.
WuTang hardly touched (especially the controller)

FF VIII
T-Shirt, poster, game, memory card+stickers included.
However i put one sticker on the memory card :/

I’m insanely jealous of the FF8 collectors edition.
FF8 was the first of the series I played and my favorite JRPG.

And that WuTang controller is quite the flex haha B)

Been able to hit up a lot of thrift spots lately.
Didn't have much time before and during the holidays.
So I had to make up for lost time lol
Glad I have though because I'm finding good stuff!

Checked out a consignment shop in a small neighboring town.
This is kind of my secret thrifting spot.
They don't show up on the internet or google maps.
I don't think many people know it exists.
Prices aren't always the cheapest..
Most games are usually a minimum of $5.
But it is at least not super picked over!

Here is what I got:

Call of Cthulhu - Xbox

I don't pick up many Xbox games.
It is a great system to collect for.
Most of the library is so cheap!

But the type of games in the library don't interest me much.
It tends to be a lot of open world and bland color palettes.
If you like that, cool!
Just not my thing :)

Anyway, this is one of the more valuable Xbox games!
It is one of Bethesda's earlier console releases.
It is kind of a mix of a lot of different genres.
Mostly detective, but also survival horror and some action.
Looks neat, I must admit.
But I just picked it up to flip it.

The Witch and the Hundred Knight - PS3
Hakuoki - PS3
Tales of Xillia - PS3

Three very anime games.
In fact, Kakuoki is a visual novel!
You probably know by now, but I don't like anime -_- .
Not that I think all anime is bad...
But it is definitely not a selling point for me.

Of all these games, Tales of Xillia mildly interests me.
But I know I will not end up liking it lol

I wish I liked more modern JRPGs.
But I can only enjoy the sprite and text-based ones on early consoles.
As soon as a whiny voice starts coming out of an anime character...
I just can't do it lol

These will go straight to the resale pile!

3 copies of Wii Sports
Trauma Center New Blood - Wii

Okay, so I just blasted anime games.
But I fucking love the Trauma Center series!
They are so different, challenging, and fun!

You play as a doctor and perform surgeries..
but then all this crazy stuff starts happening.
The previous one was about programmed viruses from eco terrorists.
Who the fuck knows what this one will be about lol

But at the end of the day, I love how fun these games are.
They are so unique and really take advantage of the Wii hardware.

The 3 copies of Wii sports was a bit of surprise.
This place tapes their game shut so you can't inspect them..
Side note, it annoys me so much when stores do that.
But I could tell there was more than one disc in there.
I just figured it was the netflix disc or something.
One copy of Wii sports for $1 is a good deal..
But 3?? Hell yeah!

Got all these games for $45
A fantastic deal overall.
I think I may be able to triple my money.
I'm trying to save up to buy a specific GameCube game...

Quick update:
Picked up some cases for my recent loose disc pickups

Mario Party 7 (Box and Manual only) - GameCube

A pretty beat up copy..
But I managed to get it for $10.
That's including shipping!

It pains me to spend too much on a replacement case.
Especially for high dollar games..
The case is usually ~30-50% of the CIB cost.

Getting this for $10 is great, imo.
Does it bother me that it is in poor condition?
I mean.. a little bit, yeah.
But now I have managed to piece it together for $13.
It's about the condition I would expect for that price haha

Lost Kingdoms - GameCube

I had a saved search for this game online..
Saw a few replacement cases available for ~$20.

This popped up for $25 with the game.
Really good deal all things considered.
That's about half off it's going rate.

I really just wanted a replacement case..
But now I can sell my loose copy for about that price.

Wish it had the manual..
But I'm not complaining!

Small Pickup from a Pawnshop:

Evolution Skateboarding - GameCube

Just a small little grab.
A fine skateboarding game, all things considered.
However, I have a hard time with non-Tony Hawk Skating games.
The controls are so tuned to my muscle memory..
Anything that doesn't control like THPS just irks my brain.

I'm sorry Konami, it's not your fault.
If I could retrain my brain, I would enjoy it more :)

Only paid $3 for it.
Happy with it at that price :)

Xenosaga the animation Vol 3 - DVD

The retro game market has gotten so competitive over the last year..
In response, I have been trying to diversifying the stuff I sell.

I've actually sold quite a few things not posted here.
Mostly collectible things and few old electronics..
Things like comics, books, manga, DVD&Blurays etc.
I'm still learning a lot and have been pretty selective in what I pick up.

But I am not really sure how to integrate those finds into this thread.
I mean, I sell this stuff to re-invest in collecting games..
But I don't want the thread to be just random stuff I flip.
It's about the games, I swear!
My tactics have just evolved lol

I don't know how I will balance the two, I'll think on it.
But this pickup is at least video game related lol
It's an anime DVD.
But an anime DVD based on a video game franchise!

I don't really know it's value.
I think it is relatively uncommon.
I've only seen a couple sold online that were pricey.
But those sold listings were brand new.

I got this for $1.
Hoping I can squeeze $20 out of it?
It has a lot going for it, appealing to gamers and videogame fans.
I think it will be a slow seller though..
We'll see how it goes!
