Goodwill pickups:

The Legend of Dragoon (Greatest hits) - PS1

Surprised to stumble upon this gem!

About a week ago I saw a PS1 console for sale at goodwill so I made an effort to check back a couple times to see if some games would pop up.
I'm happy I did!

This is the only PS1 game I found..
But I'm not complaining!
Legend of Dragoon may be my best Goodwill find!
It looks like it is brand new too

Never played this one.
It looks really cool though.
It is a JRPG with some high fantasy elements (dragons, magic, etc.)
You can really tell it was influenced by the success of FF7.

It's a cool pickup, but I'm going to sell it.
I don't collect much for PS1 and a 4 disc game is just too much time lol.

I can't hold on to everything. -_-

Ratchet & Clank - PS2

Ratchet & Clank is a pretty common game.
But it is actually very hard to find it black label and with the included map.
This is only the second time I've seen it black label; first time complete.

It's not a super valuable game..
But a good one, and one that will sell fast.
Especially in such nice condition like this.

I've actually never played a Ratchet & Clank game before.
I'll at least poke around on it before selling it off :)

Paid $5 for these two!
This was a long overdue goodwill score.
Haven't found anything good in months.

Couple new pickips:

The Italian Job - GameCube

Never played this one.
Never seen the movie either.
Seems like a weird fetish film for the minicooper lol

But I came across this at goodwill for $3 so I had to pick it up!

I guess it is a simple racing game with escort missions.
I don't think it reviewed well but that doesn't necessarily scare me off.
I like racing games. The story mode only like ~8 hours too.
I will give it a try :)

Ms Pac-Man Maze Madness - Dreamcast

It's been a while since I picked up a Dreamcast game!

Tbh, I have been a little burnt out playing console games lately.
Since COVID started, I have been filling a lot of free time with gaming.
Mostly been playing big open world games since I have the time.
I'm getting a little fatigued of the genre..

Maze Madness is an adventure-style take on the original game.
It's maybe an "action adventure" game but really plays more like a puzzle game.
It's simple, but actually pretty enjoyable!
Really, it's just a nice change of pace from the games I've been playing lately.

Got it online for $10. About what it goes for.
But I'm happy to have it in the collection.
It has been fun to dust off my Dreamcast :)

Couple new pickups today:

Tekken 3 (Greatest Hits) - PS1

Found this at Goodwill for $2.

I'm not too heavy into fighters but I have a lot of nostalgia for this game!
I played the shit out of this as a kid and unlocked everything.
I even remember some of the combos..
Usually I just button mash with these types of games lol

I remember a cool beat-em-up mode in this game too.
I am curious to check it out.

I'm kind of surprised to see this game has not held much value.
It sells online for ~$10. That's okay though!
I'm gonna hang on to it for a while and have some fun.
I'll probably bundle it with some other PS1 games eventually though.

Wii Sports (Disc Only) & Wii Sports Resort (Disc Only) - Wii

I'm maybe a little bit embarrassed to admit this..
But I still play Wii sports resort pretty regularly to this day! lol

The golf and disc golf games are some of the most simple fun.
It's very relaxing to listen to a podcast and play a round.

These games, while common, have really gone up in price recently.
Not super valuable or anything, but both go for ~$20 each (even loose).
Shit, even game stop is paying out $10 for it right now!
Kind of surprising considering these are some of the best selling games on the Wii.
I think Wii sports is technically one of the best selling game of all time??

Got these for $1 each at a local flea market.
This flea market in the next town over is becoming one of my favorite spots.
It seems like I always manage to find something there!

Couple new pickups:

Tony Hawk's Proskater 4 - GameCube

Tony Hawk's Underground - GameCube

I have been keeping an eye out for THUG for a while
It's a common game, and I was hoping to come across it at a thrift store..
Instead, I picked up this bundle online for $20.

A decent deal.
THUG usually goes for ~$20 complete.
So 2 for the price of 1? Sure thing.
Sucks to not have them complete.
But I may come across the manuals eventually.

I am a big fan of the Tony Hawk series.
I've played all of them up to THUG2 as a kid and wanted to revisit THUG1.
I remember it being my favorite in the series.

THPS 1-4 are a lot of fun but kind of shallow in content.
For experienced players, you can beat the game in an afternoon.
I like the THUG series for introducing a story mode.

I remember THUG2 being too obnoxious..
I am about 70% through THUG1 right now.
Unfortunately, it is a little more obnoxious than I remember lol
All the "rad skateboard destruction" is so corny.

Also, most of my experience with Tony Hawk is on the Playstation.
I think the controls are much better on that platform than GameCube.
Regardless, I'm having fun with it.

Happy to have them! :)

Couple new pickups from a small town thrift store:

Pac in Time - SNES

Don't really collect SNES games.
Mostly because it is rare to come across them for a good deal.
There was a small pile of SNES carts at this place, mostly common sports stuff.
But Pac in Time caught my eye.

Never heard of it..
But it looks so weird that I am curious.
I mean , who is that weird woman fucking with pacman??

I played it for a total of 30 minutes and it is kind of bad tbh.
It's a side scrolling platform take on pacman.
But the controls are really slippery and it is kind of boring and slow.
The music is good though!

Rayman (Greatest Hits) - PS1

I don't like Greatest Hits covers, but it doesn't bother me so much with the PS1.
Never played a Rayman game, seems like the first one is a good place to start!
I would prefer to have it on the Saturn, but it was only $1.
Not that this title is particularly valuable, but hard to beat that price.

MC Groovz Dance Craze - GameCube
StarFox Adventures - GameCube

MC Groovz is a terrible DDR clone.
But I think it is very interesting that it was produced by Mad Catz.
There are only a couple of Mad Catz games, this being the first.
I think it was a smart idea to produce games that use their peripherals.
They just couldn't quite do it right lol

I am horrid at DDR games lol
I don't have a dance pad either.
This game is not hard to come by or anything.
But it was complete and $2 so I finally picked it up.

Starfox Adventures is definitely the gem of this haul.
I have wanted to play this game for so long!

I was never a Nintendo Power subscriber, but I had a couple issues as a kid.
One of them being the issue with Starfox Adventures on the cover.
Starfox was my go-to on Smash 64 and I loved Starfox 64.
I thought a 3rd person adventure game sounded great.

For whatever reason, I never picked it up.
I know it had kind of a bad reputation among gamers.
It was too different a direction than most starfox fans wanted.
I think it was also not designed to be a starfox game from the beginning.
It got reskinned with starfox as the protoganist late in development I'm pretty sure?

Well, I have it now!
And in great condition, looks brand new.
Can't wait to give it a try :)

Paid $21 for these 4 games, not bad!

Kind of a bitter sweet moment..
But after my last GameCube haul, I am completely out of room on my main gaming shelf:

Kind of crazy!

I built that shelf ~5 years ago and never thought I would out grow it lol
Well, after 121 GameCube games, it has finally reached its limit.

I'll have to build a new one soon and will post it eventually :)
