ok afther writing a small wall of text d2jsp told me i cant reply to a thread that hasnt had a reply in 3 month in it. so here it goes with a new thread

i had forgot about this thread lots of updates.
afther getting empty boxes and some other harnesses without connectors we finally spliced the wires of 2 harnesses together and got the car running the same night. first rad we had set up ended up leaking from many places it was done for.
then we noticed the manual steering was so hard and the car drove like shit. after talking to the guy who sold the engine/tranny combo he said the diff was welded lol. so we dropped that tranny and switched it to a long gear we had on hand until the lsd is bought.
budy went for a highway drive witouth a fan on and overheated the engine because of the restrictive blockgard. and now the car boosts all the the water out the rad cap lol. we changing the head gasket tonight.
the compression is messed in cyl 2 and 3 so we might have something more serious going on but the gasket should do the trick. now we have a fan permanently on.
Got a 3 inch exhaust put on it last week, comes out a modified wrangler muffler that fits the car.
berg has some serious competition cuz we welding this bitch inside and out. 3rd gear breaks tires loose on the highway with blown head gasket so some mickey thompson street ss are on the way.

il give you guys more updates and maybe a video if i can get one up soon, i have to say it sounds good at low rpms cuz it has a little cam upgrade in it

found this shot of the 2 harness plugs we spliced together. We changed the head gasket, didnt notice anything that seem to obviously be the issue so we cleaned all surfaces and put on a new cometic gasket and torqued it down.
Going to finish dressing up the engine tomorow for compression test and hope we got a fix.

gasket wasn't the issue, so the head is coming of again and going to get checked for warping/cracks tomorrow or Friday. im not participating in the second tear down but the guys are working on it as im typing. if it off tonight we could get it back by friday with fresh decking (unless its cracked).

the engine isnt to bad on oil as far as we have tested, the cylinders are all oiled up since it dripped when taking the head off, and we got it runing. not sure wat you tried to say in that last part tough.

those little d16s are quick and cheap fun, this is the second we do, the first one was a super redneck budget build and dinoed at 230whp at 16 psi.

So we got the head back last friday i just didnt have time to update this, it had 6 thousands of warp between cyl 2 and 3 witch where the ones with low compression, it got shaved and now we should be around 10 to 1 compression ration. the camshaft was pitted and about half the rocker arm pads where cracked or missing pieces so we refreshed the head.
new delta cam with wpc coating and switched all the rocker arms with undamaged used ones we had in the shop. we bolted the head back down and reajusted the rockers.

old bizimoto cam ( note how the exhaust lobes are hurt :

new delta cam with wpc, getting ready to shuffle the rocker arm assemblies

back in the engine bay, getting adjusted.

the car is up and running, compression test checks out in each cylinder now. power is good but we need to make sure the temp stays down. the dam car is quick to heat up with that block gard.

at time of last post i think it did, but now we got a thick radiator with bigger fan and a 1.3bar rad cap. this was blowing water all over the place with the block guard restricting water flow. also high flow thermostat in it now.
this car has plenty of little things to work on. havent updated in a while and we are so busy we dont work on it much, but its now safe to drive around and boost from time to time.
