I wouldn't even categorize the 64DD.

64dd was never released to the public

It was released in Japan. It was a commercial failure so they decided to discontinue it and not release it in NA/Eu.



Well it's more of an expansion rather than an updated version, but it had its exclusive titles and such, making it somewhat of a 2.0 version of the N64.

Yeah but look how far down the road the revisions were released. The Switch was just released.

I dont think a version 2.0 is coming, but in a year or 2 u can probably expect a premium version similar to the wii u

new colour joy-con
64gb internal storage
portable stand/dock that can charge
bundled game

You have to take into consideration this is a giant business. They're going to do whatever makes them the most money, like it or not. Sure a happy customer is important to them but they already have a Switch 2.0 planned down the road, however far down the road that may be.
