I had great success doing the keto diet. Lost 60 lbs in 8 months. high fat has 1 major benefit, it doesn't make you hungry as often. I could eat a high carb meal, and in 2-4 hrs be hungry again. I also incorporated intermittent fasting into my diet. My first meal was around 12pm and last meal around 7-8pm. My meals were simple:

1st meal: 3 eggs, 4 pieces of bacon, 70-80grams of spinach, 20-25 grams of flax seed for breakfast.

2nd meal: Option 1 - Steak with melted butter and broccoli or asparagus
Option 2 - 2-3 chicken thighs with skin wrapped with bacon and broccoli
Option 3 - Porkchop with melted butter and broccoli or asparagus

When on keto, I was eating 6 days of the week, sometimes 5, depends on how I felt, Some days I felt like fasting for 1 day and other times 2 days. Felt better on the days of fasting then on the days I had to eat.

For me personally, it was a lot easier calory restricting on keto as opposed to carbs. Did my blood work and everything is checking out. My triglyceride levels dropped which is good. Was 200 lbs, now I'm at 140 so trying to maintain around that weight.

I'd love that diet, I just can't afford to eat steak and spinach and fresh veggies every day. Maybe when I'm in medical school I'll have the opportunity.

I only eat steak once a week. If you can't eat steak, go with option 2 or option 3. Another option is Salmon & Asparagus. The spinach I buy is baby spinach in those square containers. I buy a lot of my food from costco. Chicken, pork chops steak last for about 4-5 weeks.

Cutting carbs to lose weight is a complete misconception. One could still gain weight eating fats/proteins only if it's over their caloric maintenance level.

Weight gain/loss is all about calories in/out.

Consume sufficient protein based on your lean muscle mass and the rest of the calories can be anything.

Carbs make you hungrier than other calorie sources making it more difficult.

Carbs also make you tend to put fat on in ways that other calories don't. Your body doesn't automatically store every excess calorie as fat, so it's not necessarily true that calories in/calories out is the only important metric.

You could do it with just vegetables grilled in oils along with protein supplements. Fatty grilled vegetables are honestly 80% of my diet.

Avocados will help you out a lot too.

This and there's hardly any debate.

The only thing good about the Keto diet is that it often incorporates more protein into your diet, key for maintaining muscle mass and keeping satiated.

You dont know anything about nutrition or human physeology, especially the MTOR metabolism pathway.

You should stop pretending that you understand and mind your own business.
