I'll be visiting Seoul in 2017 with my sister and I have some questions, i'm not visiting for the purpose of a vacation but i'll try to make the best of it during my two week trip.
1) Could someone explain the step by step process of using the subway in Seoul? I've never been on a train before and everything will be in korean my first time using one. (i've also never been in a city with more than 100k people)
2) Is korean street food cheaper than restaurant food for how much you get? I would like to taste as many things as possible and I figure I can try the most variety if I focus a lot on the smaller portions of street food. (i wonder where the best places are)
3) Is $50/night hotel considered cheap for a room with two beds (a bunkbed or large bed for two also works) in the middle of Seoul within the circle'ish? Trying to find the cheapest places online for me and my sister that has a personal bathroom and enough bedding for both of us. (basic stuff only)
4) Anyone have some recommendations for places to visit in Seoul that are within or not far from the circle? (if its something great i'd travel further via train)
5) Are asian giant hornets found inside seoul or are those only found in the countryside and less populated areas?
6) Just bringing a visa credit card will be all I need regarding bringing money right? Also what about wi-fi, what do I have to do to unlock the wifi or is it provided everywhere without any paid services and such needed?
7) What are some great foods that aren't spicy that I should try in Seoul? My sister is not very spice tolerant but can handle the mild stuff (north american level of mild).
Most of my time spent in Seoul will roughly be within the circle on the map below, with the main purpose of the visit being in northern Gangnam-gu which i'll visit 2-4 times.
