I'm not a fan of any 3rd party lens. I honestly don't even like my Tamron but I can't afford the canon counterpart

Tokina never stood out to me as a good lens company

They were more of 'I'm shooting skateboarding I need a good fish eye lens'

Or for Astro photography
I couldn't imagine them as a portrait lens
This is all personal preference but with lenses I always buy the best I can.
24-70 may be something they really put the effort into tho so I'd have to see images from the lens first

Why don't you like your Tamron? Only thing that has kept me from a 3rd party purchase is the worry about copy variation.

Copy variation is huge.
I just feel like the tamron is great and AWESOME quality sharpness wise but, what lens actually has Sharpness issues when controlled properly

My biggest thing is color is kinda flat, Seems like the contrast doesn't come through well?

Not sure.
Its just not on caliber with the canon series lenses but I suppose that is why its around half the price.

Its an awesome lens. Nothing that I can't fix in Post but still just eh

No, the limitations are how long it takes to take the damn thing off the camera and put on another prime. It's annoying. :(

I wouldn't own a D750 and primes if I didn't know how to use my feet. o.O

Wat. It's a 5 second changeover.

And what are you shooting that requires such a quick change? haha

Sure, for professional work carrying around two bodies makes sense.

I want a 24-70 not to replace the need to move my feet, but so that I have a 24mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 58mm, and 70mm coverage. I'd love 6mm more on the wide end, and 15mm more on the long end, but that's just not possible!

I keep thinking I will get rid of my 50mm 1.8G and 85mm 1.8G if I get a 24-70, but it's hard to say until I make that move... if I sold the 50 and 85m, that could offset an UWA zoom purchase, then I'd have holy 2/3 of a trinity.

Yeah I wanna make the plunge to the prime side but Honestly I may just be snagging a canon 24-70 soon and calling it a day.
I like my 16-35 but I don't use it
The tamron is great but I wanna replace it

I took the advice from this thread and opted not to get a 24-70. I ordered a Tamron 15-30. I'll stick to switching lenses and getting the best quality possible. (Not that I don't want a 24-70, but I get more use out of an UWA than getting a 24-70).

Any recommendations on square ND filters that aren't crazy expensive? The systems that hold them on a 15-30 lens seem to cost $150 alone, and then a filter costs something like $150. I just want to get a 6-stop ND filter, or even maybe a 10-stop, and I'll figure out how to temporarily keep it pressed against the front of the lens.

The ones from bestbuy (platinum) or something are great. They are bestbuys brand but I used them and they are awesome. If you have someone who works at bestbuy or know someone who can get them for a discount they are great.

outside of that, sadly Filters are super expensive. Maybe something used from a forum or Keh.com

may be worth checking out.

I'll take a look. I'm in the US this weekend, Best Buy Canada doesn't offer much.
