This is interesting. I am working on creating a new thread about the difference between knowing and believing.

It's okay to have contradictions with two competing theories.

I'm in a sort of pain that is different than physiological. Theory pales to visceral existence.

...what teachings in the New Testament define a Christian...just a few examples will suffice ?

A Christian is someone who has acknowledged and repented of their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as their savior.

So New Testament verses that illustrate this concept are probably teachings that help define a Christian.

Most of what I remember about these teachings come from 1 John, including 1 John 3:9, 1 John 4:15, and 1 John 5:3.

I don't know, how did I do? You know a lot more about the Bible than I do.

Even a famous atheist, like Richard Dawkins, admits he is 99% sure there is no God. He also explains that agnosticism and atheism lie on the same spectrum. It seems like atheists are radical agnostics.

He wrote the selfish gene, theory that was distorted plenty of times, and never got empirically demonstrated.

I will never buy any of his arguments, so I'm gonna start believing there's some god

Only idiots need faith...Moses climbed a mountain to find God.. And rest of us humans to small minded to understand God..So we either don't believe, or have faith..

Essentially, atheism addresses belief and agnosticm addresses knowledge.

Atheism is "the lack of belief in the existence of any deities."

Does that make theism a lack of belief in the nonexistence of deities?
There is nothing magical or scary in the word belief, and the taboo status it's come to hold seems just weird to me.

Atheism is a claim about the state of affairs in the world.

Here is a good graphic that explains this pretty well:

Tbh they're both pretty bad. Those additional categories serve no useful purpose at all.
Generally when claims are made about this or that a 100% certainty is not needed. I'm not "agnostic" about gravity even though it's not impossible that it's just some big fluke or that I've merely hallucinated my life up to this point.

Yes you can.
The correct definition of being Christian:
Benevolence toward all
Indulgence toward the imperfections of others
unconditional forgiveness of the faults
Do this and you will be a Christian.
Does not need dogma and fundamentalism, only need the inner moral reform.

It is a rational definition.

"A Christian (About this sound pronunciation ) is a person who adheres to Christianity, an Abrahamic, monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. "Christian" derives from the Koine Greek word Christós (Χριστός), a translation of the Biblical Hebrew term mashiach.[4]"
