Atrocious game... just atrocious.
-Pretty good bounce back for the defense, albeit it only felt like they could stop the Steelers when Big Ben made mistakes.
-That Brady interception was fucking terrible, although a field goal there wouldn't have helped in the end because the Steelers probably still drive down for a field goal and you still need a touchdown on the final drive with less time now.
-The penalties in this game were impossible. Some of it was refs but god damn it felt like every drive a false start or holding call just killed the drive. And then at the end a red zone holding call was just the final straw and killed them. Never were going to get it into the end zone with that penalty barring a miracle.
-BIZARRE offensive game-plan all around. Not sure if it was Brady's execution or just the play-calling in general but Jesus Christ it was terrible. You needed to score touchdowns and on a third an medium they go for an Edelman screen that Pittsburgh shut down earlier in the game. Besides that Hogan bomb, there was no separation from the receivers. Gronkowski obviously can't even jump right now so he shouldn't even really be targeted at all. One of the throws, albeit over his head late, he didn't even jump for at all.
-The run game was incorporated really weirdly. Never felt like there was a flow with it. They were averaging 5.1 yards a carry but weren't used when they needed to be. It was just a mess.
Onto Foxboro to host Buffalo and then the Jets the final week.
RIP us getting a bye in the playoffs or home field.
