I would feel uneasy if we gave $61 million to Butler yes, especially since he has really only had 1 great season or so.

Gilmore commits boneheaded penalties sometimes, but I think he's a better corner, mainly because of his size/length. let's be real, malcolm butler is undersized. Don't get me wrong though, I think Gilmore is probably overpayed lol, but he's a good corner. Gilmore was a big reason we were able to get to the super bowl last season (made a hell of a play in the Jaguars game).

I'll never forget Butler winning us a super bowl, he still has hero like status for that, but he just never was an elite corner for a long duration IMO.

but you're right, time will tell, Butler could get back to form and be a shutdown corner.

Butler isn't that good. He fucks up too often and I can't think of one other corner demanding top 10 corner money who lets up 80 yard TD plays like he does. It's like once a game he gets burnt for a fucking HUGE TD pass cause he misses a tackle entirely or falls down or w/e. He can be good, but his consistency is shit and fuck giving him 60M.
