What does the well do,I’ve seen one before

You can drop a "white' item in the well and it will give you a chance of dropping a better item coming from the monster.

Be careful though, the monsters level is the same as the item you drop in it. Dropping a level 50 white item when you're level 5 would pretty much be instant death.
