well... difficult to find tangible points for all of this, but I personally am under the impression that the right is more divided in terms of the message and the optics, but strongly unified on policy, while the left has more message discipline and is producing the more coherent optics atm, but imho they are even more divided on policy than the GOP is.

dont get fooled by the McCains and Kasichs of the world, they are vocal outliers. at least, on the republican side, you dont have half of all fresh candidates (non-incumbents) publicly defying their congressional leaders before the election even took place.

i agree, and they're not going with a policy up front messaging in the midterm ads. i hear them all day every day. they're fear mongering about a Dem shift, to try and drum up some enthusiasm. "we done good thusfar under Trump" isn't going to work for enthusiasm, and that's what the clearly need, based on their messaging.

to that point-
Trump's got 96-98% approval among his voters and 90% among democrats.
Is there a single democrat in the country with 90%+ approval among democrats? Before anyone says 'the bern', remember what happens when you leave the social media echo chambers

still, I think the dynamics of how this translates to midterms is a lot more uncertain. penishats right that Trump's support does not translate to approval and enthusiasm for individual congressmen

uh, wait, what? I think you meant "98% approval among his voters and 90% disapproval among democrats".

but why dont they just jump on Trumps 2020 "promises made, promises kept"-bandwagon?

tax cuts, a thriving economy, deregulation and a business-friendly environment in general, peace talks with north korea, getting NATO allies to finally carry their fair share of the burden, giving the police the political backing that they had long been missing under the previous administration, a sharp decline in immigration levels, a tougher deportation regime, finally doing something about china's unfair and exploitive trade habits, improving relationships with key allies in the middle east, a firmer support for israel - those are all points that should appeal to the republican base.

why not mention those points, followed by something along the lines of "but we are not done yet. we need your vote to achieve a solid majority in congress that allows us to finally repeal obamacare, fund the rebuilding of our infrastructure and get the migration chaos under control"?

because most of them are out-of-touch, flimsy, get-rich-in-the-swamp types with limited persuasive ability.

President Trump is not of their ilk (which is a positive assessment of drumpf not most the gop congress). they just have (R) after their name when it comes to election cycles.

it would so simple to make a wide-net campaign ad blitz mentioning some of the parameters in your post and juxtaposing them against the lefty politician/rino politician/mainstream media’s contemptuous dismissal of what drumpf said he would do and what he has done/what has happened in the face of this group’s unified #resistance

in fact brb a few video clips put together and now i can be a political consultant

Man arrested for hate crime after attacking Hartford officer

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
A man was arrested for hate crime and other charges after police said he smashed the window of an officer's cruiser with a brick.

Devon Adams-Almstad, 20, of Hartford, told the victim that he hated cops and was targeting a white cop as a result of an officer's previously recorded remarks.

Sgt. Stephen Barone recently made news when he was caught on camera telling suspected trespassers that he was "a little trigger happy." He's on leave while an investigation is underway.

The unidentified victim officer was reportedly sitting in his parked police cruiser, which was positioned to mark a road closure in Hartford.

When Adams-Almstad threw the brick through the cruiser window, police said it narrowly missed the officer's head.

The officer suffered minor cuts to his right arm, but declined medical attention.

The incident was not captured on any surveillance cameras.

Adams-Almstad was charged with first-degree criminal mischief, assault on police, reckless endangerment, hate crime and second-degree breach of peace.
