I think i remember that you once talked about a seraph as a Fury weapon.
Is it valid? And would a cruel or fools be better? :)

Seraph and Ettin have the highest base averages (49.5) that can achieve 5 frame (legendary mallets can with 80 ias, but the loss of ed% jewels makes their total damage output lower than seraph or ettin).

A cruel seraph/ettin with 40 base ias and two 40/15ias jewels have the highest DPS for Fury Druids in the game. Cannot be beaten by any 4 framer in terms of DPS.

Fools will be better vs all melee, cruel vs other Druids.

And the dps is higher even without the ds you would get from eg. a cryptic with a 40/15+Lo? :)

If we're comparing a Cruel Seraph to a Fools Cryptic, yeah.

Cruel Scratch (my old 300% Fools Cryptic sword)
Weapon average = 296
+ 15 average from charms = 311
* enhanced damage = 1442%
72% deadly strike
----
8248 average damage

vs

450% Seraph
+ 80% from 40/15ias jewels = 530% Seraph
Weapon average = 467
+ 15 average from charms =482
* 1442% (15.42)
52% deadly strike
----
11297 average damage

vs

300% Fools Seraph
+ 80% from jewels = 380%
Weapon average = 356.4
+ 15 from charms = 371.4
*15.42
52% ds
----
8705 average damage

Mockup Cruel Cryptic:
41 average damage * .5 ethereal = 61.5 average damage
*450% ed
+ 40% ed from 40/15ias jewel = 490%
362.85
+ 15 average dmg in small charms = 377.85
*15.42
72% ds
----
10021 average damage

Edit:

Honorable mention is a Cruel Zerk with Shael + Lo:
71.25 average damage * 5.5 = 391.875 + avg from small charms = 406.875
*15.42
72% ds
----
10791

As always a very informative post! :)
Btw if you duel zealots/barbs but forti isn't allowed - would it make sense to use a self rep high def armor to increase the defense? Or maybe an eth jalal?

The place where Cryptic Sword and Scourge can shine is on max damage possibilities.

With the same ed% as in the above example, you would have 9162 max damage with the CS or 9359 max with a Scourge. With a fools Seraph Rod you'd have 7213 max damage.

So CS and Scourge have a better damage range - meaning you can hit for more than 18000 damage with both vs 14000 with a Seraph. 1530 vs 1190 dmg in melee PvP. Could help with FHR and a couple of max hits could wrap up the duel. So if you can't find or afford a Seraph or Ettin, CS and Scourge may do worse on average but they have more chance of double damage and a lot higher maximum damage possibilities. If luck is on your side...

I'm primarily going to duel Barbs/paladins which means cruel is out of the picture.
The way i see it - a CS and a scourge will be better than a seraph when you compare the avg. Obviously it's not as consistent but a better average will always be better - i assume :)
