Shame Kassian did not work out in Vancouver. It was personal problems more than anything at that point I think.

He has really thrived in Edmonton.

He got his shit together and found a good fit.

yup found a good fit getting free points playing with McDavid

The oilers have lost 24 straight games when McDavid and draisaitl are both unable to record a point. Is all this winning going to come crumbling down shortly? Keep in mind that has only happened 6 times this year so far.
What will fix this 2 player team?

Was really looking forward to have him play in mtl until he had that accident and forced the trade.

Ya. I think the trade had to happen at that point.

Usually this is the time of year pretenders get exposed.

Some teams have hung around a lot longer than I expected.

The oilers have virtually an identical record this year as last year at this point. It’s the other teams in division that are underperforming resulting in us being on top. Prior to to the buffalo game we had 1 more win and one less loss than last year after the same number of games.

This is also the same time last year that 3/6 of our defensemen went down, I have no reason to believe if our team remains relatively healthy we will keep this pace. Will other teams pick it up? Idk

A realistic outlook.

I want the Oilers to do well but the same problems are still there.

Behind Mcdavid and Draisatl there is not enough scoring. RNH probably won't finish close to 70 points again and even though Neal is putting up some goals his +/- is atrocious so he must be scoring primarily on the PP.

Suspect D and goaltending at times add to the problem.

I want this team to make the playoffs but I just don't see them performing well when things tighten up down the stretch. I hope I am wrong.
