he lives like 3 blocks away from me, id chill with him but meeting up with 1 dude from the internet to hang out is kinda weird...

I thought that too, but I met an old d2 buddy years ago and regularly still see him. Absolute legend. Times are changing meeting people online is a pretty normal thing for most nowadays.
