Account Expiration
Timeframe
: This happens when your account has been inactive (not signed into) for 3 months (90 days).
Solution
: None. There is no way to recover a lost battle.net account if it went inactive. After the 3 month period, the username is available again, and all details and characters are purged during the next maintenance cycle.

Character Expiration
Timeframe
: Each character must be played within 90 days to stay un-expired. The only exception to this rule is for brand new created characters, which must be played for at least 2 hours total in the first 10 days of creation. Then the 90 day timer will begin. Logging into the character at any time resets the timer back to 90 days.
Solution
: If you find your character is expired, double click on your character to attempt to sign in. If the character name was taken, you will have
no
way to restore your character. However, if your character name has not been taken during the time it was expired, your character will be restored and the timer will be reset to 90 days.
