Well I booted up my laptop and my Unity for my profile is all fucked up and missing. It's just the background with no terminal bar at top and no unity. Now the guest profile works but I can't connect to my internet..

Are you a distro that came with unity or did you install it from the command line? Also what have you tried to get your internet to work. Do you have the Wicd network manager?
