Installing Windows on SSD/HDD.

First thing you need to do is download all necessary drivers, for motherboard (just use motherboard CD for this) and Vid card(s), Antivirus and Malware software, and save them to a USB Flash Drive or CD. This is so you do NOT have to go on the internet, before your computer is protected !

First make sure to disconnect any other SSD's or HDD's, except the one you're installing Windows on, and that it is formatted as Primary, NTFS and Default Cluster Size

Install stuff in this order:

Unhook Internet
Enter the BIOS and set the SATA Storage Configuration to AHCI, for Windows Vista and above.
Install Windows
Install motherboard drivers
Install vid card drivers
Install sound drivers
Install Security programs
After everything is installed, open Services, and make sure Windows Update is set to Manual.

Rehook Internet
Install Windows updates. ONLY the Important and Critical ones. Read though all those as well, and UN-check any that have to do with vid card, sound or motherboard drivers.
Rehook w/e other SSD or HDD's you have
Install utilities like CCleaner, 7Zip, IMGBurn
Install w/e other games or programs you want.

[Setting up your Services]

Go here:
http://www.blackviper.com/2010/12/17/black-vipers-windows-7-service-pack-1-service-configurations/ ...Windows 7
http://www.blackviper.com/service-configurations/black-vipers-windows-8-service-configurations/ ...Windows 8
http://www.blackviper.com/service-configurations/black-vipers-windows-8-1-service-configurations/ ...Windows 8.1
http://www.blackviper.com/service-configurations/black-vipers-windows-10-service-configurations/ ...Windows 10

You can open the Services window, on YOUR computer, by typing: services.msc ...in the START > Search box.
Set up your windows services as shown in the SAFE column, at Black Viper's Website.

Things you should put on your SSD

250GB and up are faster than 180GB and down. For any make/model. You WILL fill it up.

Programs you want ON the SSD...

CCLeaner
Malwarebytes
Image editor
Steam client (but put games on storage drive)
If Win 7 or 8.1 then... GWX Control Panel (stand alone version)
Skype or that type of program
Anti Virus if you use one
MSI Afterburner (for setting GPU fan speed)
ImgBurn
7Zip
Drivers ofc
VLC Media Player (or the like)
Browser(s)
Temp Monitoring Program (like...AIDA64 Extreme, or Speccy)
Adobe Flash (if you need it for any sites)

If you're thinking about overclocking...
CPU-Z
GPU-Z

If you're into music...
Audacity

If you hate Adobe Reader...
SumatraPDF

Put everything else on storage drive.
...that's about it.

GWX Control Panel Guide --- For removing Windows 10 crap from a Windows 7 or 8.1 install.

If you are running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, go to the START Button and in the Search Box type: Services.msc and hit the Enter key. This will open the Services window. Scroll to the bottom and set Windows Update to Manual and leave it set to Manual.

Go to this site: http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/ ...and download: GWX Control Panel. Get the one that says: * Download Stand-alone *, save it to your desktop.

Run the GWX Control Panel program, that we downloaded above. Use the buttons below, so GWX Control Panel looks like this, when you are finished.

Microsoft releases Windows Updates for Windows 7 and 8.1 on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. So each month on the 2nd Tuesday...
Open START > Control Panel, and click on Windows Updates. A new window will open and in that window, click on "Check for Updates".
NEVER install any Optional Updates. Install all the rest that show up. Computer will want to reboot...let it.

After running Windows Updates, you will need to run GWX Control Panel again, to make sure the 8 items stay the same as shown above.

Get HWMonitor here: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html ...install it and post a screen shot of the main page of this program with ALL the temps showing, when posting a problem on these forums.

Get SPECCY here: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download ...get the FREE version from the: Piriform Link ...Speccy is a really nice system hardware/temperature, information Utility....simply install it...and run the program...then post a screen shot of the main page of the program, when posting a problem/question on these forums.

DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Instructions - Nvidia/AMD
1. Get this program, here: http://www.wagnardmobile.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=144 ...from the "Official Download Here" link, and save it to your desktop.
2. Get your vid card driver here, use the Manual Search: Nvidia: http://www.geforce.com/drivers ...or AMD: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download ...save this to your desktop.
3. Run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose: Nvidia or AMD, then choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you. If it wants to go into "Safe Mode", let it.
4. After it's done and comp has rebooted to normal mode, just double click the Nvidia or AMD driver ( that you saved to your desktop in step #2) ...to install. If it want's to reboot, let it.

The following are other programs you will find useful, just Googling their names will find them for you.

1. CPU-Z
2. GPU-Z
3. Core Temp
4. Memtest
5. Prime95
6. 3DMark11 or Vantage or Extreme
7. Unigine (various benchmarks) Valley, Heaven
8. IMGBurn
9. 7Zip

When building a comp...any comp...the 3 MOST important parts are these:

1. Case...whether you are air cooling or water cooling get a case with room for growth, great cooling, and case exterior connectors where you are going to want them.
2. Power Supply ...this runs the show...get a PSU that will easily drive w/e you have in comp or MAY decide to add to comp. Consider wattage AND amperage.
3. Motherboard ...EVERYthing ur comp does, it does on or thru the motherboard circuits...you skimp here, you WILL regret it, down the road, or from day one.

Properly Air Cooling Your Computer

1. You are going to need more CFM of Intake than you will for Exhaust. This is due to the fact that the CPU Cooler and Vid Card(s) will be "starved for air" if you don't.
2. This is how I've set up my system and added "Cold Air Cooling" by way of Comp's location compared to the Windows A/C Unit.

3. Keep in mind that you need to find the best solution for your environment, this is what works best for mine.

4. The CPU Cooler can face towards the top or rear of the computer, and can have a single fan or two fans for a push-pull operation. Towards the rear is the BEST option.

Quickie Guide to setting GPU fan speed with MSI Afterburner (free program)

In MSI afterburner...

1. Just to the right of the fan speed slider... un-click the Auto
2. Then, move the slider to 40-60% or until the noise gets on your nerves :)
3. Then click: Apply
4. Then a tad further left, click: Apply overclocking at system startup

Things NOT to do:

1. Do NOT rely on System Restore...it has never worked well on any version of Windows.
2. Do NOT let Java and/or Adobe Flash Player update themselves....Flash CAN install on top of the old version, Java can also...but it won't ever work properly again. You need to uninstall older versions of JAVA or Adobe Flash Player before installing the latest version.
3. Do NOT use the online installers for either Java or Flash....download the offline installers for both.
4. Do NOT download and JUST open or install...ANYthing without first scanning it at: https://www.virustotal.com/ For files over 128MB, you'll just have to use your installed scanners for those. Virustotal has a 128MB file size limit.
5. Do NOT use Windows update/rollback to install hardware drivers.
6. Do NOT click on ANY link to a program that promises a one stop fix, for all your computer problems.
7. Do NOT buy cheap-ass crappy computer parts, spend a little extra for well known, QUALITY parts.
8. Do NOT just update games, drivers, Windows, or browsers, unless you make a new clean backup or at worst, a Restore Point FIRST.
9. Do NOT update or flash your BIOS unless some new hardware absolutely requires it.

PC Decrapifier KNOWS about a LOT of programs...and will first find the ones it knows....

Then, as with any good program it will also then list ALL the programs on your PC...and leave you the choice of what to remove and what to keep.

You will be guided through the process with a "wizard" style series of questions. You will have the choice to pick and choose what you want to remove. It will not begin removing anything without asking you first! Could it get any better....well....yes it could....once you have check marked things you want removed...it will remove them all at one time !!

You posted the same thing on the first page of this thread. And probably countless times throughout this thread. And everywhere else someone has any problems with their computer. I'm pretty sure there is enough resources to find it by now.
