Just adding on to this post with other posts I have made to make a little bit more sense... sorry all:

Just one of my random posts trying to word things better if (big F*&ing IF) I make a Prof guide:
Click and game mechanics = 1 second delay (this is an action, but not a true action because abilities like multi-strike can = 9 actions with one(1) click.)
The only (ONLY) item that is different is/are Heavy Weapons with a 1.8 second delay. Note: All other skills have a 1 second delay: i.e. Fishing, Cooking, Transmuting etc.
EDIT: Oh, to improve the 1 second or 1.8 second delay is Quick Draw (note: only applies to weapons, not charms).
Thus:
60 Clicks = 1 minute
600 Clicks = 10 minutes
3600 Clicks = 1 hour (hope my mathematics is correct)
So, when you are in a group run and you have 10,000 actions during a 1 hour period, that is only because you are using Multi type abilities like Revenge / Multi-strike / Multi-cast / Multi-heal / Knock-down etc, but, it doesn't tell you how many CLICKS you are contributing to the Group run.
Are you lost in the above statement??? Okay, if you are in a group and have Multi-Strike, and you hit a monster once and gain a 10% charge up for Multi-strike, and the next wave encounter is 5-9 and you USE the 10% Multi-strike... you get +4 to +8 more ACTIONS. Bonus if you don't hit for Zero(0) and hope to gain prof points as long as your character is higher than your Rank level.
... I will continue my debate to myself at a later time, sorry for the inconvenience in posting this trivial information ...
Regards:
Rex

I am guessing this is with a Weapon. I believe that Bigheaded stated that there is a 10% chance to gain 1 prof point during a wave, whereas, if you are Healing, there is a 70% chance to gain a prof point. So as an example:
A wave of monsters = 0-10 max prof points (excluding an event)
100 clicks (not multi abilities) = +1 or +2 prof points when using a weapon: = 10-20% chance (excluding 0 hit)
100 clicks (not multi abilities) = +5 or +7 prof points when using a healing charm: = 50-70% chance (excluding 0 heal)
Now, with Multiple action abilities like Knockdown (vs 3 in a column) with 1 click (but counted as 3 actions) you have a chance to gain 0 or up to 3 prof points.
I also believe that casting charms (lightning etc) have a higher % chance to gain a prof point compared to Weapons.

 mao
Awesome.
If you are a Prof (weapon / cast / healing) Hunter;
+Wells
+Well longevity
+Prof (weapon / cast / healing)
Also... No Trap Doors come in handy when hunting for a Well... and not using a TD detect character.
Why solo and welling for prof hunting?
It is basically more for the Weapon user during a wave, so when you drop an item into a Well, that is a Wave, but the monster is way harder, longer to kill etc... the funny thing that people DON'T know, you have a higher % chance to gain a Prof point compared to running around in a catacomb.
Here is another thing about welling and prof hunting:
You are rank 23 in sword, so your character level needs to be level 24+
You find a Well solo'ing at level 24... woot, I can well Tier VII (level 20 items) and gain prof points (and more)
Ahh... the funny thing is, you can also gain prof points welling Tier VI (level 15 items)
Ahh... the funny thing is, you can also gain prof points welling Tier V (level 10 items)
All from the same well, and the % chance to gain a weapon prof point is 60% higher than attacking mobs while leveling up in a normal run (catacomb).
Test it for yourselves, also... if you are 1 hit killing, you don't want to do that when welling for prof points and weapons.
EDIT:
Open your Prof Window when testing, this will show a +1 when you gain a prof point, if you are level 24 and Rank 23 with Sword, and the item is level 20, you will notice that you will gain the maximum of +10 prof points within the first 12 Clicks (1 second delay, if not in 10). if you are welling Level 15 items, it could be within the first 15 clicks to get maximum of +10, and when welling Level 10 items, it could be withing 15-18 clicks to get maximum of +10.
Dependent on the item you drop into the well and the monster that appears... like Chain or Plate armor, may take more actions to kill the monster, whereas, when you drop a healing type charm, you kill it off faster. Also Note, you can actually change your level 20 weapon to a level 15 or 10 weapon to reduce killspeed to gain more prof points per click.
As you can see from these quotes that I posted in the Events thread or the Ladder Slasher update thread created by Light_Prince, they are all related to prof hunting...
