Maybe I’m drunk, but that doesn’t seem very expensive for him. Way, way worse players go for 1st round picks as rentals this time of year, and half salary retained should make it easy for a deal too.

The problem is that it's not a normal year. It's a buyer's market right now.

Buffalo doesn't have much leverage here. There are only a few teams for whom it makes sense to bring in Hall and some of those teams probably don't want anything to do with him (I imagine NYI was one of those teams).

I'd be surprised if there are more than 3 teams right now that are seriously considering trading for him.

buffalo has zero leverage if every gm that wants him offered a 3rd they would take the best 3rd round they could get
they arent keeping him its a player 100% being sold in the worst season of his career by a bottom of the league team

and it really depends on the prospect if its like 1st and some nobody prospect sure if they want 1st+ a top prospect thats way overpay for this situation imo
